2021 is a year of reconnecting with our families, friends and LGBTQ+ allies.
Virginia’s Queer communities are as strong, passionate and resilient as ever.
Virginia is also celebrating our new freedoms as the first southern state to sign into law the Virginia Values Act in 2020, and the passing of 11 pro-equality bills early this year, banning the gay panic defense, conversion therapy and reducing the stigma and barriers to healthcare for people living with HIV — all efforts providing new levels of Safety and Welcome for LGBTQ+ visitors.
As you make your event and travel plans, use our statewide list of self-designated LGBT-friendly lodging, dining, shops, craft beverages, outdoors and attractions found at Virginia.org/LGBT. And, Virginians are finding and sharing more of our Queer history, statewide.
