Big Concerts Coming to Virginia in January 2019

It’s a new year and there’s lots of new music coming to Virginia in January 2019. From major country acts to the biggest names in rock and pop, celebrate the season with your favorite artists and discover new ones all over the Commonwealth.

 

Over at Virginia’s many live music venues:

The National in Richmond will be bringing a number of big name artists throughout the month. The venue will be hosting Umphrey’s McGee (Jan. 11 & 12), Yung Bleu (Jan. 19), Badfish – A Tribute to Sublime (Jan. 20), August Burns Red (Jan. 25) and others.

The Broadberry will be hosting acts like Cracker & Camper Van Beethoven on Jan. 21, Big Something on Jan. 25 & 26, Mt. Joy on Jan. 27, and more.

The Dominion Energy Center will host An Evening with Three Dog Night on Jan. 17.

The Beacon Theatre in Hopewell will host MJ Live (Michael Jackson Tribute Show) on Jan. 11, Travis Tritt on Jan. 12, and more.

The Paramount Theater

In Charlottesville, the John Paul Jones Arena will be hosting Panic! At the Disco on Jan. 23. The Jefferson Theater will hosts artists like Eddie from Ohio (Jan. 12), Steep Canyon Rangers (Jan. 18), Phil Vassar (Jan. 26) and more. At the Paramount Theater, WNRN will present “Dead Air,” a concert spotlighting 22 bands from the Commonwealth and their unique versions of Grateful Dead songs. Artists performing include David Wax Museum, J. Roddy Walston & The Business, Scott Miller, The Front Porch, The Steel Wheels, Rob Cheatham, Gold Connections, Andy Jenkins, Chamomile & Whiskey, and more.

In Lynchburg, Ashley McBryde will be performing at the Phase 2 Club on Jan. 11 along with Uncle Kracker on Jan. 18, and more.

The NorVa in Norfolk will be bringing in Lake Street Dive (Jan. 4), Lovelytheband (Jan. 11), Silverstein (Jan. 13), Court Street Company (Jan. 25) and many others.

In Roanoke, the Berglund Center will be hosting Kane Brown on Jan. 31.

The Harvester Performance Center in Rocky Mount will host An Evening With Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder on Jan. 10. Also performing in January are Junior Sisk (Jan. 11), Alejandro Escovedo (Jan. 13), Crash Test Dummies (Jan. 22), and more.

The Abingdon January Jams at the Barter Theatre will be bringing in Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn (Jan. 11), Sam Bush (Jan. 12), Reverend Shawn Amos (Jan. 18), Temeca Jones (Jan. 19), Drew & Ellie Holcomb (Jan. 25), and Dustbowl Revival (Jan. 26).

At Wolf Trap National Park for Performing Arts in Vienna, shows will include The Verve Pipe (Jan. 12), Toots & the Maytals (Jan. 16), John Oates with the Good Road Band (Jan. 17 & 18), and more.

Alexandria music hall The Birchmere will be hosting The SOS Band (Jan. 10), Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder (Jan. 11 & 12), Travis Tritt (Jan. 15 & 16), Eddie From Ohio (Jan. 18-20), Angie Stone (Jan. 21), and more.
