Big Concerts Coming to Virginia in January

It’s a new year and plenty of big name musicians will be coming to Virginia during the month of January. From major country acts to the biggest names in rock, hip hop and R&B, catch your favorite artists and discover new ones all over the state.

Indie artist Justin Townes Earle will be stopping by the Birchmere in Alexandria on Jan 8 and country and bluegrass musician Ricky Skaggs will be performing two shows at the venue (Jan. 20 and 21).

 

In Norfolk, the NorVa will be bringing in hard rock act Breaking Benjamin (Jan. 11), hip hop artists Run the Jewels (Jan. 18), and ska/punk bands Reel Big Fish and Anti-Flag (Jan. 21).

 

In Richmond, the National will be hosting jam bands Lettuce (Jan. 8) and Umphrey’s McGee (Jan. 20 and 21).

 

Head to Charlottesville to catch Twenty One Pilots at the John Paul Jones Arena on Jan. 22. Indie rockers Kurt Vile and the Violators will perform at the Jefferson Theater on Jan. 26.

 

80s music icons Rick Springfield and Richard Marx have two Virginia shows coming up. One at the Berglund Center in Roanoke on Jan. 21 and another at the Dominion Arts Center in Richmond on Jan. 22.

 

Singer/songwriter Shawn Mullins will be bringing his Americana sound to the Harvester Performance Center in Rocky Mount on Jan. 27 and to the Tin Pan in Richmond on Jan. 29.

 

Country musician Travis Tritt plays a show at Hopewell’s Beacon Theatre on Jan 31.
