Each year AAA reviews more than 31,000 restaurants. Just 0.2 percent make the AAA Five Diamond list and only 2.3 percent make the AAA Four Diamond List. Inn at Little Washington Dining Room, Washington – Five Diamond
At the Inn at Little Washington, dining has been likened to a performance with the guest always playing the star role. The Inn’s dining rooms are pure fantasy – a wondrous cocoon of luxury. Harriman’s, Middleburg – Four Diamond
Inspired and staying true to the essence of their location in the Virginia Piedmont, Harriman’s menu highlights fresh, seasonal ingredients, captivating farm to table elements with their very own Chef’s garden located just outside the restaurant. In a relaxed yet refined setting at the Salamander Resort & Spa, guests will enjoy delicious breakfasts and mouth-watering dinners, while overlooking sweeping views of the Virginia countryside, resort stables, and distant Bull Run Mountains range. Private catered events for up to 24 are available in their Cooking Studio. Maximum restaurant capacity: 90.

Restaurant Eve, Alexandria – Four Diamond
Located in Old Town Alexandria, this historic warehouse building is now converted into a quaint yet sophisticated 100 seat restaurant offering two unique dining experiences in separate rooms, “The Chef’s Tasting Room” and “The Bistro.” The 34 seat destination Tasting Room is Chef Armstrong’s culinary showcase of “Modern American Cooking with Classical French Influences”. Here he features five- and nine-course prix fixe tasting menus, highlighting the freshest of seasonal ingredients and local Virginia produce.

Fossett’s, Keswick – Four Diamond
Fossett’s is the signature restaurant at Keswick Hall and Golf Club providing guests with a uniquely Virginian dining experience. Known for its expansive views of the new Pete Dye-designed course, Full Cry, it is further defined by the locally sourced ingredients and freshness presented in each dish in its seasonal menus. The epicurean heart of Boar’s Head, the Old Mill Room, was built from the timbers of an abandoned gristmill along the banks of the Hardware River, dating back to 1834. The Old Mill Room is the only restaurant in Virginia to have retained AAA’s prestigious Four Diamond award for 29 years in a row. Lamaire is disappointing at best and decidedly overpriced. The atmosphere, however, is nice. Good decorators is the only compliment this place deserves. What a shame.
