When you’re vacationing as a couple, a place to stay and maybe a suggestion for something good to eat is all you really need. How you fill your time is only limited by your imagination. Are you ready for the “stay here/eat this” part? Good. Plan away …

— SANDBRIDGE —

Sandbridge Beach

This quiet beach community is south of the Virginia Beach resort area and populated by private vacation homes (available for rent). If you haven’t heard of it, that’s probably why. Three condominium options are available through various management companies as well: The Sanctuary, The Sandbridge Dunes, and The Seaside at Sandbridge.

  • Sandbridge Island Restaurant, Raw Bar & Pizza
  • Baja Restaurant & Coffee Co. – Open Wednesday through Sunday; Live Music

  • Surf and Adventure Co.

— CAPE CHARLES —

Bay Creek Resort & Golf Club

Bay Creek Resort & Golf Club

This sweet Chesapeake Bay beach town can be found on Virginia’s Eastern Shore. The tide is calm, as is the town. Choose from several places to stay – a boutique hotel, resorts, B&Bs, and vacation rentals are available.

I’ve been going to Chincoteague for 30 years and I refuse to go to AJs on the Creek. The service is TERRIBLE, especially if you are from out of town. I can’t believe anyone would list this place as a place to go with so many better choices, i.e. Steamers, Bills, and Don’s/Chattie’s .

Chincoteague Island is great, is has a nice pristine beach. We were here this summer and liked it a lot. Check out our photos here:
