John Roman says:

Glen Hordon Manor in Huntly,VA was both romantic and had wonderful food. The hosts were fantastic, welcoming and struck the right balance of paying attention and leaving you alone. Wonderful, beautiful, well appointed and delicious place!

Mike woolard says:

How do these properties get nominated?

Casey Higgins says:

Hi Mike,
The first four were included thanks to their mention in an article (referenced in the first paragraph). The remaining properties were pulled in based on our knowledge of their offerings.

Linda Hall Drake says:

Mike Woodward-is your comment necessary? Why do you need to know-are you in the media or someone who owns a Inn?

Cindy Fairfield says:

Thank you for posting this article. I live in Virginia in Fairfax County. I have a lot of this information but not all of it. This will help me plan a late summer or early fall vacation!!!

Pauline says:

Where is the location of the article photo? That pool in the garden does not look like Virginia.

Casey Higgins says:

Each photo is captioned. The photo of the pool with the large house and garden (in the article) is L’Auberge Provencale. If you came to this page from a recent Facebook post (https://www.facebook.com/VirginiaIsForLovers/posts/10152879817572172), that image was from Goodstone Inn.

Lisa says:

I think your definition of romance and mine are different. If you want high dollar eateries to impress a date, you are right on the mark.

Srose says:

Right! Take me to a cabin in the mountains!

Lisa says:

Definitely beautiful scenery for the rich and famous.

Sallie says:

I love Virginia

Elizabeth B says:

A native Virgian, my romantic style changes perhaps as widely as the vast landscapes of VA. I love love the beach, I grew up there. The smells, the sounds and the sand between my salty toes. But I too love the modern candlelit city restaurants and the rolling hills surrounded by stone and roaring fires. VA has it all. ❤️
