Gerald Anderson and Marcus Mumford with Guitar

Gerald Anderson & Marcus Mumford with Guitar

Virginia’s musical heritage is legendary. Just ask Mumford & Sons.  They chose Bristol, Virginia as one of a handful of small towns to play in as part of their Gentlemen of the Road tour. When they arrived in Bristol for their August show, they had a very special welcome.  Gerald Anderson, one of Virginia’s master luthiers, handmade a guitar for Marcus Mumford.  It was a gift courtesy of Leah Ross, Executive Director of Bristol Rhythm & Roots.   Marcus and the band were incredibly touched and the guitar solidified Southwest Virginiain their hearts forever.

Check out this new video where Marcus talks about this guitar and Gerald shows the love that went into crafting the instrument.  Plan your own visit to Bristol and other sites along Virginia’s Crooked Road.
