Do you recognize one of the oldest tourist destinations in the US? This beauty has been included on several "Seven Natural Wonders of the World" lists, was surveyed by George Washington in 1750 and was once owned by Thomas Jefferson as a personal retreat. While you're visiting don't forget to swing by the legendary Foamhenge, explore the Natural Bridge Caverns and get your photo taken with a baby tiger at the Natural Bridge Zoo. #HappyBirthday to #NASA, launched 51 years ago in 1958. This is an awesome shot of the Minotaur V launch from #WallopsIsland, #Virginia last September by @_miancab. If you're interested in watching their next #launch, the Antares is scheduled for October of this year (date TBD). You can view from bleachers or the rooftop observation deck at the Wallops Island Flight Facility Visitor Center OR you can watch from Chincoteague or the Assateague Island beach. #rocket #loveva #space #stars #photooftheday #blastoff @nasa

    Gordonsville Tree Lighting

    Gordonsville Tree Lighting

How fleeting those moments are. You know the ones. A child’s eyes tell all – wonder, amazement, joy, and a speechless love. See that sparkle appear when you take your child or grandchild to a parade or tree lighting this holiday season.

Gather ’round the community tree and sing carols with candles in hand. The warmth of togetherness is unmatched when you take time out, join hands, and celebrate a season of abundant love. Take part in one of these annual tree lightings this year:

Enjoy one of these upcoming parades!

    1. Thanks for sharing this post. I would also recommend people to join in masses to participate in the event. Lighting tree is the most important thing so this gathering is good to share light moments with loved ones too.

    2. Could you please stop posting, or advertizing on my facebook wall. If you can’t do it from where you are then please inform me as to how I do it. I don’t want to keep seeing it pop up on my wall. I don’t want to report you as a spammer. I love Virginia, but don’t need to see it on my wall all the time.
