    A Tease of Spring

by Casey | Posted on February 22nd, 2010

The weather has warmed just enough to remind us of what spring feels like in Virginia. Perhaps a hiking or biking trip is in your near future? If so, you might consider these great destinations:

Natural Tunnel State Park in Scott County, Virginia

    • A getaway to the “Sunrise Side of the Blue Ridge” includes hiking, horse trails, and a wine trail in the heart of Thomas Jefferson country! It can be a fun trip for families with ‘tweens and/or teenagers, or save it for a weekend away with your extra special loved one.
    • A great stroll or hike is the Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus. Any time of year is spectacular along this trail, and you can make it as easy or strenuous as you like!
    • If you’re into porch-sitting and nature-peeping, Natural Tunnel State Park is the destination for you. Get your hiking boots laced up for the hikes, and bring the charcoal for the grill. This is an amazing place for the whole family to retreat.
